Busy
The boot cuffs for Ruby's grand daughters are done. Now working on Jessica's hat. Then JJ's hat and scarf.... In fact I may start the scarf....Love the colors, hate making something so long and boring!
Thank God for knitting.

Damn Mittens
Is torment. I have tried three times to make a decent mitten and it's not going well.
Trying to make them for the Angel Tree at work.
Maybe just hats?

Dean's Hat
Every tume I knit a hair hat I think, that looks so cute I want to wear it all over the place.
And I never do.
This one is for Dean's 94th birthday on Friday

Bloggety Blog Blog Post
I attended the First Weekly Knitting Party with Samantha last Tuesday and enjoyed it immensely. How come these young knitters all seem way ahead of me when I was first starting out???
Annnnnyway, still working on the granny square blanket. Samantha came up with the idea to sew the squares together rather than crochet and I think I'll try it. So time consuming. But I know it will be a project I look back on fondly!
If I ever finish it.

Hot as Balls
I am thoroughly sick of summer, this the 2nd day of it. YUCK. It's so humid and gross. I detest heat, having been born and bred in the north country (though the old man points out I've live in Tulsa longer than anywhere else in my life. True. Still can't take the heat.)
So I am wandering around in pajamas gifted me by my dear friend Emily, hanging out in the lovely (expensive) air conditioning, watching TV and knitting.
My goals in life the last few weeks have been to not leave the house on my days off. Thank God for the husband that will shop for what provisions I require, and who doesn't mind eating omlets! Because I will cook the hell out of omlets. Add a side of hashbrowns and some dry toast? Nirvana. Then a nap. And more knitting.
So that's summertime for me--I was actually checking out casino jobs in Wyoming, dreaming of the chilly nights and cool days. I was comparing rentals and saw the arid, desert surroundings...
Here's the thing about Oklahoma. It's beautiful. I live near the Ozarks, with trees and rolling hills, rivers, grass, flowers...I would so miss it. The heat and humidity do indeed suck. But we have all four seasons here, and I love that.
I also love my job. And the people there. I love my little shack where I have dwelled since 1990. Who am I kidding? I will never leave this place where grass is a weed, there is no sagebrush, and it's hot as balls in the summer.
I guess I can dream, though. And knit.

Squaresville
I feel like I've been knitting these squares for a thousand years. Some of them are so awesome I think, "I ought to do a whole afghan in this combination." Then I think about my short attention span and it's...nope.
I haven't even begun to consider how I join the squares..except with black yarn. Crocheted. Maybe.

Double Disaster
Aaaaaarghhhh.
I have tried and failed dozens of times. I mean this should be something to unleash my creativity not frustrate me.
I have unravelled this yarn so many times its like when I was learning and the fuzz flew. So instead of shapes and hearts I am trying simple squares....and it doesn't feel simple to me.
I just keep trying!

Double Knitting
Just what I needed. A harder form of needlework that takes twice as much yarn and your time. I have been slacking a bit because...I don't know! I can't NOT do it but I feel that it may be more trouble than it's worth. So. Two hats in progress. This one and one tiny baby one. Where the baby is already a month old.
Until I master this I think we are at an impasse.
Great!

Fancy Hat
This is going to be a fancy striped earflap hat. Love love the Liz yarn.
We been on a Mannix kick the last few weeks, knitting and enjoying the early 70's vibe. Reminds me of the old days.
Knitting on!

Cat Ear Hat
Although the old man says it looks more like an armadillo.
Bought some beautiful Vanna's yarn at Hancock Fabrics yesterday.
And now I have a thoroughly unpleasant doctor appointment today. Yuck!

Busy On Vacation
Here we have the fruits of my labors...Maleficent...
Next is a cat ear hat and the throw made from the yarn Lizard got me for Christmas. I already bought two more skeins because this is a small but heavy throw thanks to the raspberry Stitch.
So I have been pretty busy. Watching movies going to various doctor appointments and knitting. Great days off!
