This thing took forever. Possibly because I have several projects going at once. Or because of the tiny needles and basket weave. I regret the amount of my hair in it. Making a hat and booties but of much softer yarn.

When I brought my bag o' knits to Mary it was a free for all. I earned $30 from Leatha, who did NOT need to pay a cent. But the bad thing was, I had a hat and scarf set from variegated yarn that someone took the scarf and left the hat. GRRRRRRRRRRR!!!! To split up a matched set!
I brooded on it, thinking spiteful things, but Cheyenne ended up giving the hat a home on her daughter Ensley's beautiful head.
Which made me happy.

On a Serious Note

Being a gaming employee it saddens me to see the massacre in Las Vegas. Maybe just as a human being. It is horrifying to see something like this happen in our country, which will give other crazy people ideas.
I love guns, but this is going to have to change some of our laws about automatic weapons . Some guns are just wrong. And some people wrong for owning them.
I don't pretend to know the answers but the questions just keep coming.

Starting another baby blanket. I worrya bit about the texture of this yarn. It is a beautiful pattern  knitted up in the basket weave pattern. I have plenty of time to get it done...still dont know the gender!

The baby blanket is done. The edging straightened out the roll of stockinette as I hoped. I am already Crocheting an angel scarf, moving on to other projects. Very happy with finishing a big project.

Working on the blanket of Johanna...the middle panel is done, now crocheting the border. Crocheting a purple scrap scarf...odds and ends...and tonight I will be making "friendship bracelets"for Dylan. At the request of Tonya and Avalon. We shall see!

Busy...Crocheting?

OMG I have struggled with the single hook. But I keep at it and found I can make scarves!

Working on a...thing for Heather. It started as a scarf, briefly considered being an afghan but will most likely be a hood with a scarf...maybe.

Hm. Not much so far.
I have 10 hats and scarves for the Angel Tree so far. And still at it.
Thank goodness for yarn!

Struggles ensue

Gout

Yes, gout still exists. I have it. Diagnosed when I was maybe 42, I take a pill a day for this painful but treatable form of arthritis. I avoid alcohol, red meat, mushrooms, bacon and other things. Usually.
Monday I cooked up a batch of Burgundy Beef. What is in it? Red wine, beef, mushrooms and bacon. It was friggin' delicious, ate a huge bowl Monday, served over couscous (love it!) And had leftovers last night.
Then all hell broke loose. Exploding pain in my hands, feet, shoulders...My hands are so bad I can barely write this post.
I took my allopurinol and have been drinking water to flush the uric acid out of my body.
Ugh. It sucks. Mom had gout and so do my siblings. It isn't like typical gout when your toe hurts and gets inflamed. It is every joint in my body.
I put my gloves on and got a corn bag hot and endured the agony.
This morning it is better but I still have to use both hands on my cup.
It shall pass. And I may never make Burgundy Beef again.

I will be delighted to finish it. In between I have been knitting baby hats.
Thank God for knitting. It keeps me sane.
